Separators for oil, petrol and grease must be emptied at the right time. This is a requirement from the authorities. The oil detector OSA 3 gives a signal so that emptying can take place before environmentally hazardous liquid flows out, for example in the municipal sewer.

Alarm based on capacitive and thermistor technology for use in oil, petrol and grease traps.

The system consists of alarm unit type OSA 3 together with the sensors ES4, R6-S and ES8. The alarm unit is EX-rated and has two potential-free relay outputs and a built-in acoustic alarm. The sensors are Ex-rated and made of plastic (ES4) and of acid-resistant stainless steel (R6-S) and fiberglass-reinforced plastic (ES8).

The sensors are hung via their cable down in the separator. The tip of the capacitive sensor must be mounted at a level 150 mm below the constant level in the separator. During this installation, the central unit will sound an alarm when the oil or grease layer exceeds 150 mm.

The central unit can also emit a dam alarm if the alarm is equipped with a high level sensor (R6-S). An alarm will then be issued if the level rises critically in the separator. This could happen if the automatic shut-off valve has been closed or when the separator outlet stops. If the unit is supplemented with Sludge Sensor ES8, alarms can also be issued when the sludge layer in the separator becomes too thick.

OSA 3 has an LCD display with status indication in clear text. All alarms and measures for these are presented in a simple way on the display. The device is easily programmable for a simplified installation.

The unit has a built-in real-time clock, this makes it possible to see in the event log when the alarm status changes. The unit is self-checking and notifies if errors occur on the sensor inputs, for example in the event of an incorrect connection. The two relay outputs are programmable and the user can decide how to use them.
