Afriso Ema is part of the Afriso Group and is a limited liability company owned by Afriso- Werk Georg Fritz GmbH & Co KG. Afriso is a family owned company founded in 1869, and is now being run by its fourth generation.
Ema Instrument was founded in 1971 by Hans Sigstedt. Afriso has been a shareholder since 1976. In 1984 EMA bought Svensk Nivåkontroll, a company specialising in tanker trucks and depot equipment. In 1995 Afriso took over 100% of the shares.
For 50 years, at EMA, we have worked under the motto "For cleaner air, soil and water". We develop solutions for safe handling of explosive and toxic products. Our customers are in industry, defense, municipality and state. Experience and knowledge are the key words of our business. EMA was started in 1971 and the foundation of our business was the new Electric Overfill Protection Act. The product range was expanded when the Afriso Euro Index 1976 entered as a partner. When the EMA 1984 acquired Swedish Level Control, the company acquired its own manufacturing which also included the components of the overfill protection components on the tanker.
From the outset, Ema's sales consisted largely of its own products. Today, own products constitute about 60% of sales, of which about 15% are exported. All manufacturing is now done at subcontractors. Our experience is that good environment and safe workplaces increase productivity and thus profitability.
