The Leakwise ID-221 oil sheen sensor is developed to detect thin layers of hydrocarbons on water surfaces in various industrial environments, for example oil monitoring in sumps, storage tanks and groundwater. It uses electromagnetic absorption to reliably detect oil, and can sense layers as little as 0.3mm thick.
